Scientific allocation and rational utilization of teaching resources in colleges and universities become one of the significant projects in human resource management in recent higher education institutions. The multiple tasks of teaching, scientific research social services as well as cultural inheritance have become the main difficulties about it, which leads to contradictions such as career path selection and time resource allocation. What’s more, college sports teachers share the distinguished particularity with others in the paths of above mentioned ways both contently and technically. The operability and demonstration in college sports provide an important element among it. However, the recent college-teacher appointment criteria emphasize more on uniformity, theoretical and scientific research, leading to the dramatic conflicts between human resource type and practical application. Hence, the reasonable classification of PE teacher position in colleges and universities, so as to enable all PE teachers play their roles in their positions and contributes to their future career development, possess powerful and practical significance as the key projects for human resource researchers.This essay makes a study on the situation of sports teachers’current position classification oriented to the teachers in physical cultural institution at Central China Normal University. The related study methods are literature method, history method, case study method and questionnaire survey method. The detailed investigation conclusion are as follows:1.76.2% of the sports teachers support the implement of sports teachers’position classification.2. The main problems in position classification in physical cultural institution at CCNU lie in the lack of discipline features, uniform assessment mode, imperfection in assessment system and position classification as well as deflection in theory and scientific research.3. Teachers in physical cultural institution hold lower satisfaction to the current position type, especially for the teachers of technical courses.teachers’participations are relatively low, and only 3% of the teachers know the detailed practice in position classification setting.Based on the above problems, the related suggestions are listed: the normative documents in the angle of operation for PE teachers’position appointment system should be accelerated. PE teachers should have the right to know and participate fully. The teachers’ position type should emphasize on the subjective features with the classification evaluation established. So the human resource scientific allocation and career plan development will be perfected combined.Lastly, the essay also puts forward new suggestions of position classification system foundation to college sports teachers in the aspects of basis, principle and type.
