Human’s development and social progress rely largely on the establishment of harmonious relations between people. A warm, friend ly and harmonious interpersonal relationships can promote the social development healthily. So all countries from the world are committed to creating a warm, friend ly and harmonious human society. However, With the economic development and fierce competition, it becomes extremely ind ifferent between people, especially the new generation of the young. They become selfish, ind ifferent, lack of compassion, and they don’t caring for others and help others. It has become a serious issue during the social development..Based on this, American scholar Dr. Nell Noddings proposes we should change the o ld traditional school education, and carry out caring education to deal with human ind ifference. In book The Challenge to Care in School: An Alternative Approach to Education Noddings proposes that "caring is the cornerstone of any successful education," and he advocated to establish a set of "concern" theoretical system. In order to meet the challenges of social development brought to the school, he introduced the concept “careinto”school education.Ideology and morality is a course set up to promote a healthy development of the students and teaches student to adapt to society better and it is its mission to strengthen students’ ideological and moral education and help students to improve their moral qualities. Then help the students form a healthy Psychological quality, and enhance their social responsibility and adaptability and gradually form a correct outlook on the world, life and values. Therefore, in the teaching of ideology and morality, teachers should care more about students, and help them foster sound personality, improve their moral qualities, and make them become the students with all-round development of both body and mind. However, the current s ituation is not optimistic, ideo logy and morality education not only failed to play its role properly, but often becomes a dependency to examination-oriented education. Facing this, people have made an appeal that ideology and morality education should return to the nature of education, and also the teachers should focus more on students’ human instinct than the examination-oriented education, they should care about students’ present, students’ future, and truly do everything for every student.Purpose of this paper is to let people realize the importance and urgency of carrying out caring education in schools and some methods of implementation more clearly through the application of caring education in ideology and morality education. The difficulty lies in how to make teachers change their traditional teaching methods which mainly focus on examination-oriented education fundamentally and pay attention to caring education, and apply caring education. The innovation of this thesis is that I bring caring education into the ideological and moral education, so that our class can better reflect our "people-oriented" philosophy of education.This thesis consists of five parts: The first part is preface. It mainly introduces caring education research background, significance of the study, reviews, ideas and methods of the research which appears in ideology and morality education teaching.The second part is a main introduction of caring education theory.Through the introduction of this sectio n we will have a better understand ing of caring education theory. And it will make people realize that applying caring education in teaching should be paid more attention to. The third part focuses on the need for caring education theory in the ideological and moral teaching, so that people can better recognize that application of caring education in ideological and moral teaching is meaningful.The fourth part mainly analyze the present situation and causes of the lack of caring education from the perspective of ideological and moral teaching in middle school so that people can know the urgency of caring education better. The fifth part focuses on the measures of caring education implemented in the ideo logical and moral education classes. It enables people to grasp caring education better, and pave the way for teaching.
