At present, middle school physics teaching in our country is most still exercises teaching as the core, with the teacher as the center, and with high score into purpose. Although this kind of phenomenon has improved under the background of new curriculum conditions, but it is not optimistic. A large number of studies have shown that the traditional teaching method is not conducive to students’ physics concepts understanding,it is urgent to explore new teaching methods to inspire students’ interest and learning efficiency.Interactive lecture demonstrations (ILDs) has more outstanding advantages over the conventional. It is a new type of student-centered teaching method starting from the students’ pre-conception. It can cause students’ cognitive conflict through a simple demonstration and pay much more attention to the classroom interaction. It has been proved effective in improving students’ ability of understanding physics concepts and solving problems after 20 years research. But there is no related research in China at present.This thesis has studied a preliminary application of interactive lecture demonstrations in the physics classroom. Analysis in this paper is carried out from theoretical and practical aspects through the literature research, observation and questionnaire method. In the aspect of theory, this thesis has made the detailed description about the ILDs process, operation steps, the design criterion of demonstrations,and the current situation of the middle school physics teaching of our country, especially the demonstrations teaching.It also includes the research status of the ILDs in different countries of different professionals.In terms of practice, the on-the-job masters and undergraduates are selected as the teaching object.ILDs is conducted under the two demonstrations about surface tension of liquid,at the same time students’ attitude towards ILDs has been survied through the observation and questionnaire.Based on these,some conclusions are put forward.They are ILDs’ advantages,the attention in the process of implementation, and the requirement for teachers.Besides,most students affirmed the ILDs according to the classroom feedback, so it can be initially determined that the ILDs is feasible in our country’s middle school physics class. The last part, the reflection and outlook, hope this study provides certain theoretical reference and practical help for future researchers.
