Research On Social Work Practice For Accompanying Children Of Rural Workers Integrating Into City Life

With the acceleration of industrialization and urbanization, a large number of surplus rural labor forces are released. They flow out for trans-regional employment and enter into urban non-agricultural industries, forming an overwhelming "overflow of migrant laborers". In the process of surplus rural labor force flowing into cities, it is even more obvious with the trend of whole family migration as well as intergeneration migration. Migration of surplus rural labor force changes from individuals in the early period to entire core family, in which large numbers of children of rural migrant workers move to cities for living and schooling. Accompanying children of rural workers will face a brand new external environment from rural countries to cities. They may be lonely and lack sense of belonging, for whom how to blend in urban life will be a great test for them so as to take root in the cities. Besides, with the continuous development of China’s urbanization, the number of accompanying children thereof is increasing, who will replace their elder generation, becoming an important force in China’s urbanization development. Hence, to discuss the integration into city life plays an important role for realizing citizenization concerning accompanying children of rural workers, urban construction as well as social harmonious development. With the case of "One City" project the author has taken part in during the internship of new citizen plan as the example, ecological system theory within social work theory is chosen as the basis. In the paper, qualitative research is adopted, and25investigated objects are chosen for in-depth interview, including accompanying children of rural workers, rural worker paterfamilias, volunteers, organization director, organization supervisor, organization social workers, etc. Through thorough analysis of interview recordings, data compilation, it tries to verify three hypotheses that "compared with other voluntary service and assisting activities, the social work practice-urban inclusion of rural migrant worker’s children has advantages and feasibility","the existing problems of social work practice-urban inclusion of rural migrant worker’s children refers to microcosmic, mid-scopic and macroscopic levels" and "the sustainable development of social work practice-urban inclusion of rural migrant worker’s children is the result out of three systems’interaction", makes research on the realization way that social work involvement in urban inclusion of rural migrant worker’s children, expects to submit suggestions and countermeasures for scientific nature and operability, which would provide reference to the researchers and practitioners of social work in future.The thesis makes analysis on the problems existing in the social work practice-urban inclusion of rural migrant worker’s children in microcosmic, mid-scopic and macroscopic levels. Findings:there are problems existing in aspects such as service ability of social workers, construction and development ability of social work organization, social support system and so on. Therefore, efforts shall be made so as to perfect the assessment mechanism, talent team construction&policy support of social worker’s intervention as well as realize the diversification of patters thereof&development of social worker agencies.
