Biology concept is one of the essential components of biology knowledge hierarchy. For senior school class teaching, the delivery of concept is the core of teaching mission, but many of them are abstract and associated with mathematics, which cause problems to understand and master. Mathematical models are an efficient way to enhance comprehension and absorption of these concepts delivered, since they reveal the accessible mathematical essence covered by biology concepts. In this study, three main study techniques, literature review method and experimental methodology were introduced for assistant based on the reviewing research on domestic and foreign related literatures and analysis of mathematical modeling teaching’s status in quo in middle school to reach the understanding of current modeling-related resources. An experimental mathematical modeling teaching practice was also launched to make contribution to this study and it was found that by extracting the resources in biology course and organically utilizing mathematical modeling as a helpful tool, the once complex concepts could be well received and digested. On the other hand, students mastering the skill to build mathematical model themselves tend to be more confident in further biology study. The teaching experiment practice offered the strategy and principle of applying mathematical modeling to biology teaching and is looking forward to deeper investigation as a reference.
