The Research Of Chinese Men’s Basketball Team Zone Defense On30th Olympic Games

The highest level of basketball match-the London Olympic Games have ended, the performance of Chinese team is not disappointing. Chinese team lost all five games, lost25.2points per game, ranked last. Created the worst record since the1992Olympics in Barcelona20years ago, the competitiveness of Chinese basketball team is declining significantly. The gap with the world top teams is getting bigger. The Performance of Chinese men’s basketball team in the Olympic Games deserved to be reflected on. The current basketball game is still getting higher, faster and stronger. Offensive and defensive speed is also getting faster. The unity of speed and height is getting more attention. The defense of basketball is aggressive, comprehensive defense system is widely used. The Chinese men’s basketball team use zone defense a lot and Chinese basketball team is familiar with zone defense. In London Olympic Games, Chinese team use man to man defenses most and then the zone defense. Through the statistics and analysis of Chinese men’s Basketball Defense performed in London Olympic Games, we can find out the advantages and problems in the process of using them. It is helpful for training and match of Chinese men’s basketball team. In this paper, we study at the using of zone defense in Chinese men’s five basketball games. We use video observation method, literature method, mathematical method, logical analysis method and other research methods to analyze the statistics and index of Chinese team’s five games in London Olympics. The results are as follows:1. Chinese basketball team use zone defense when the match was suspended or when players make free shot. When zone defense was used, it is used a long time, even a quarter. So it is less flexible and elusive2. Chinese men’s basketball team use zone defense the most in second quarter, the least in first quarter. The most formats is2-3zone defense, secondly,2-1-2zone defense the other was used little, so the zone defense format is single. 3. Chinese team use zone defense to catch the score, to restrict opponent’s break through and inside attack. We use zone defense passively. When we lose10points or more and19or more points, we use zone defense most, Mostly, Chinese team settled down directly or make a full-court press defense first then half-court zone defense.4. When Chinese team use zone defense, the opponent always make3point shot, Chinese team defend3point shot not well, the zone defense formation shrink too small, defensive players move slowly, so the opponent make a good3point shot.5. When Chinese team use zone defense, it is so easy for opponent to catch ball near free throw line, that makes zone defense formation shrink a lot, it is a big loophole for inside and outside defense.6. When Chinese team defend break through, defensive coordination was used little, defensive player foul a lot and defensive effect is not good.7. Chinese team do terrible work to get rebound when zone defense, defensive player always look ball instead of guarding offensive players, Chinese team lost many rebound. The timing is not reasonable when player make a foul and the foul is not complete, we give our opponent a chance to make free throw and2plus1.8. Chinese do a little better work on block shot and2point shot defense when use zone defense, but on the index like defend3point shot, protect defensive rebound, do something to let opponent make mistakes, it is not good when Chinese team use zone defense,generally, the result of zone defense is not good, Chinese team has not take advantage of zone dense well.
