As the development of globalization, more and more people travel, study and work abroad. There are30%-60%sojourners who suffer serious acculturation problems. Overseas students are an important part of acculturation groups. It is useful to imprve their acculturation leve on the aspects of students’ life, study, evaluation to host countries and so on. Malaysians are special for being affected by Confucian culture, Islamic culture, Indian culture and Western culture. As a intermediate point of the21st century Maritime Silk Road, Malaysia affects the development of regional cooperation. Malaysia implemented a series of good policy of Chinese education in recent years, more and more Malaysian come to China to learn Chinese. There are many researches about acculturation at home, but the studies about Malaysian students are few, this situation is unreasonable to improve Malaysian students’ acculturation. So this paper chooses Malaysian students in Beijing as the object of study to research three questions:(1)How is the acculturation of Malaysian students in Beijing?(2)What kind of acculturation strategies do they use?(3)How to improve their level of acculturation?Based on the related theories and empirical researches, we divide acculturation into psychological adaptation, social cultural adaptation and academic adaptation. By self-rating depress scale, academic questionnaire and questionnaire of social culture, we tested146students and interviewed18students. The results of this research are as follows:(1)The level overall of Malaysian students’ acculturation in Beijing is good, but its change likes a reversed "U", the younger grades students are better adaptation than senior grades students academic adaptation likes a tie, which link psychological adaptation and social cultural adaptation together.(2)Grade and overseas experience affect their psychological adaptation significantly. Gender and cross-cultural training don’t affect their psychological adaptation significantly; Gender grade, overseas experience and cross-cultural training don’t affect social cultural adaptation and academic adaptation significantly. But experience abroad and cross-cultural training are do good for acculturation.(3)The choices of acculturation strategies form high to low are:separation, integration, assimilation and marginalization. The adaptation of integration is the best; separation and assimilation often suffer serious acculturation problems.According to these results, we suggest educational institutions can improve acculturation of Malaysian students in Beijing by the following measures:(1)Develop the special course of cross-cultural training for Malaysian students.(2)Enhance the service awareness of the overseas students’ office and try convergence management.(3)Develop the interactive effects of Malaysian and Chinese student organizations to improve Malaysian students’ participation of cultural activities.(4)Play the role of academic adaptation to adjust Malaysian students’ acculturation.
