As an important integrated English skill, English writing, to a large extent, can reflect the learners’ ability of using English. Feedback, which is a crucial part of English writing teaching, has become a significant research subject in the domain of English writing teaching. However, the lack of follow-up supervision leads to an inexorable trend that students form a negative attitude towards the composition correction.Peer feedback, originally transferred from the first language writing, has received a widespread attention with the popularity of process writing approach. Most of the researches concerning peer feedback abroad and at home focused on the ability of tertiary learners, and only countable studies were conducted for senior high school students. Therefore, under the guidance of the related theories and findings, the present study attempts to apply peer feedback to a Senior Two English writing class in the group assessment mode with the instruction of the teacher, aiming at exploring the effectiveness of peer feedback and arousing the students’ writing interest and writing autonomy. Moreover, it is expected to offer some references on how to use peer feedback to senior high teachers. The specific research questions are as follows:1) what are the students’ perspectives towards peer feedback?2) What are the appropriateness and effectiveness of students’ peer feedback like?Reflections were summarized to further improve the teaching plan through the implementation of the instructional design of peer feedback. Also, a questionnaire, as well as a semi-structured interview was adopted for information collection about students’ attitudes towards peer feedback. The findings of the research have demonstrated that1) Most of the Senior Two students accept peer feedback, but it needs to be the supplemented by teachers’ feedback.2) Senior Two students are capable of proposing effective peer feedback. By analyzing the two drafts and the corresponding peer feedback forms of18students,83%of the peer feedback is appropriate and68%of it is adopted effectively in self-revision. Therefore, it is beneficial to apply peer feedback in Senior Two English writing teaching.
