With the development of the era, mathematics application more and more appear in our life, and occupies very important position High school new curriculum reform to develop the students’ application consciousness as one of the new curriculum concept, put forward the high school mathematics curriculum should provide the basic content of actual background, reflect the application value of mathematics, to carry out the "mathematical modeling" learning activities; Set reflects the important applications of mathematics seminar, can let students experience to the role of mathematics in solving practical problems, strengthen the relationship of mathematics and other subjects and daily life, promote the students gradually form and development of mathematics application consciousness, improve the practice ability. In our usual teaching process, however, is not very attaches great importance to the application of teaching, lead to the high school mathematics application ability is weak, with poor ability to solve practical problems. In order to understand the high school students learning problems encountered difficulties and the causes, so this topic research is presented.Titled the starting point of this study is based on higher mathematics application, studies the problems in the teaching process mainly includes what problems exist in the process of teachers in teaching mathematics word problems? What kind of problems when students in word problems? The strategy of how to improve the ability of solving mathematics word problems?This research mainly adopts literature analysis, questionnaire method. The author through reading a large number of literature and related knowledge, design to write the student and teacher questionnaires, students’ test two parts, into the reasons for the lack of capacity to advise and solution strategies. Through the investigation and analysis of two high schools in shuang ya shan, summed up the teachers and students in teaching and learning problems that exist in the process, as well as the solving strategy. First of all, the study found that the teachers in the teaching process of the application of the teaching importance is not enough; Teachers’ teaching effectiveness and professionalism is not strong; Degree of teachers’ understanding of the new curriculum reform is not enough; Second, students in the learning process value degree is not enough; The student’s reading level, conversion ability, ideas and methods are lack. Through research summarizes strategies to raise the ability to solve problems, namely cultivating students’ interest for application, overcome the psychological barriers, improve reading level, increase the students’ ability of mathematical modeling and computing power.
