The class teacher’s authority is indispensable in the daily education andteaching, which has great educational power. However, it is facing an unprecedentedchallenge when the new curriculum reform appeals to an equal relationship betweenteachers and students, advocates dialogue teaching and proposals new educationalideas to oppose oppression. The class teacher’s authority is becoming an area that noone can touch, so that the effects of daily class management and educational teachingactivities are unsatisfactory, without the authority. Based on this situation and therelated research having been done by predecessors, the thesis does the research on itsown perspective and puts forward the understanding of class teacher’s authority.The thesis is divided into four parts: introduction; theoretical basis about theclass teacher’s authority research; process display for the action research;introspection on the action research.In the first part, it mainly introduces the reason, value of this research, researchmethods, and makes a literal review. Based on the related research having been doneby predecessors, the thesis tries to make an operational definition of class teacher’sauthority, and decides to study on action research model,combining with observationmethod and interview method. Meanwhile, though design about this action research isbriefly stated in this part.In the second part, based on the related theories of Max Weber, Karl Jaspers andHerbert Simon, it demonstrates the inevitability of class teacher’s authority.Meanwhile, the thesis analyzes the features of it: the power guaranteed by law and theinner personality charm of class teachers themselves, that is, rational-legal authorityand charismatic authority.In the third part, it mainly displays the detail operation process of the action research. In the process of improving class teacher’s authority, the action research firstcollect information as much as possible. Then analyze them and find out the problems,that is, the class teacher retreats on her rational-legal authority and fails to take fulluse of her charismatic authority. Combined with the problems found and the relatedtheoretical basis, through continuous observation, reflection and assessment, the thesisputs forward the strategy to resolve these problems, and it is verified in practice.In the fourth part, it concludes the achievement of the action research, using thetheories introduced before, that is, interweaving of rational-legal and charismaticauthority is one of the effective strategies to promote class teachers’ authority. What’smore, shortcomings of the action research is summarized in this part.
