Learning English writing is necessary in English learning. It reflects students’ comprehensive competence when they perform the process of outputting language,completing English writing and transmitting information. Students’ interest, attitude and motivation of English writing are influenced by the mode which is short of valid guidance and sufficient attention. In the end, the writing process and production are not satisfactory. So we ought to focus on the situation and reflect the relevant teaching way deeply.The study presents the teaching concept and way of English writing under the guidance of scaffolding instruction in senior high school. Teachers apply different methods, break down complex learning tasks into different teaching circles, build scaffolds in accordance with students’ zone of proximal development and provide students with necessary writing resources, which are helpful for students to construct English thinking and writing way. In addition, the study utilizes the instruments of the questionnaire, pre-test and post-test and interview in two parallel classes to attempt to solve the problems. And problems are whether the scaffolding instruction can change students’ interest and motivation of English writing,and whether the scaffolding instruction can improve students’ writing level.This thesis consists of five chapters. They are the introduction, literature review, research design, result and discussion of the study and the final conclusion. By analyzing the result of the study, it can be found that the scaffolding instruction applied in the English writing teaching in senior high school can help students to construct relevant knowledge in the relatively relaxed and active atmosphere and to activate their potential levels in the process of independent exploration, collaborative learning and the proper guidance from the teacher.Besides, students can learn the writing techniques, accumulate experience, enjoy the writing process, go on communication and interaction with their teachers and classmates and finish the writing evaluation and related reflection. Students can realize that they are the masters of their learning by experiencing these process. In addition, it can be concluded that after consistent writing training, valid construction, evaluation and reflection, the scaffolding instruction promotes to motivate students’ interest and motivation of English writing and improve their writing level. Apart from these, the teaching enlightenment obtained from the study is also full of guiding significance.
