Compared with high school students, vocational school students are not so good at English. Most of the vocational school English teachers use traditional teaching methods to teach their students. The author employs experimental research, interview research, testing research and inductive method as her research methods, in an attempt to analyze how to solve the problems which occur in vocational school teaching process. The results are as follows:1) It is effective to use this new method which combines the scaffolding teaching method with systemic functional linguistics.2) It is productive to establish a storage for both students and teachers by means of summarizing teaching materials in the research process. This new method combines the scaffolding teaching method with systemic functional linguistics, thereby overcoming the drawback of traditional English scaffolding teaching, namely, a lack of the guidance of related linguistic theories. All in all, this study enriches the "scaffolding instruction" theory and it provides operational teaching cases for the application of scaffolding methods in vocational schools’English teaching.
