The core concept, main knowledge in the knowledge frame of each chapter in the teaching module, is the foundation of building the discipline system knowledge. "The New Course standard of biology in high school (experiment)", (hereinafter referred to as the "standard"), proposed to apply strategies into high school teaching, such as autonomous learning, cooperating and communicating, the ability of analyzing and solving. And it emphasized that learning was a process of building knowledge autonomously, developing ability, forming a correct emotion attitude and values. According to the requirement of standard, this paper was guided by cognitive-learning theory, constructivism and conceptual-change theories, the core and important concepts of compulsory modules in biology textbooks which published by the People’s Education Press were sorted by consulting a large number of documents. On the basis of the investigation of teachers and students and understanding students concept preview and learning situation, the design principles based on understanding of the basic concepts of biology were described, and take a lesson "from the biosphere to the cell" for example, it shows a teaching model that designed to guide students to acquire core concepts based on preview working and relevant teaching theoretical guidance. Questionnaire and teaching practices were conducted in Yong’an twelfth secondary school. After one semester of teaching practice, average scores of experimental class in biology exam, compared with average score of the whole grade, were significantly improved in the mid-term and final-term exam, indicating that this teaching model can improve teaching effectiveness; the main contents in comprehensive analysis of the questionnaire include: the teaching model can improve teaching effect and help students to cultivate and promote good learning habits, such as autonomous learning, cooperating and communicating.
