Social evaluation is the important content in the study of psychology, which has always been the attention of researchers. In recent years, researchers have reached a consensus that social evaluation content includes two basic dimensions, competence and warmth.Competence pertains to goal achievement involving qualities like intelligence, confidence, persistence, and power, helping individuals to get better use of personal ability, grow in personal skills, achieve personal goals, and get a sense achievement. Warmth pertains to functioning in social relations involving qualities like warmth, helpfulness, honesty, cooperation, and trustworthiness, helping individuals to get along with others better. Further study found that there is a special compensation relationship between them, namely if the evaluation of one dimension is lower, the evaluation of another dimension is higher. Previous research has explored the compensation relation between of the two dimensions, but limited to the process of impression formation. Through three research,This study verified the compensation effect of competence and warmth and further discusses its function in the process of Group evaluation change, and explores whether it is available to use the compensation relation of the two dimensions to change the evaluation of real groups to pull our study to the level of practical application. The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1) There is a compensation effect between Competence and warmth, that when evaluation of one dimension is lower, the evaluation of another dimension is higher.(2) When subjects evaluate the group with information of one dimension, then offer the information of another dimension to them, then their evaluation of both dimensions will change. If new information matches the compensate relationship of the two dimensions, the evaluation of two dimensions will change toward tae same direction, if not, he evaluation of two dimensions will change toward the opposite direction.(3) when evaluating the real groups, the information of one dimension does not change the evaluation of another dimension.
