Curriculum, instruction, assessment and teacher professional development are the four major components of the education system. In the standards-based reform, the education system can work as a whole and the reform can succeed only if every component of the system is aligned with the others.Currently,China has launched the process of deepening the reform of the entrance examination system, which clearly defines academic achievement test as an important system,on the basis of the national curriculum standard, to measure the degree of students’ learning prescribed by the state and to ensure the quality of education and instruction. Therefore,to study the issue on alignment between senior high school chemistry academic achievement test and curriculum standard can provide greatful theoretical significance and practical value for deepening the reform of the senior high school chemistry curriculum, instruction and assessment.By a series of methods such as literature research, content analysis and case study, this research checks the issue on alignment between senior high school chemistry academic achievement test and curriculum standard in Guizhou province from the quantitative and qualitative perspectives. The research mainly consists of two parts:The first part:A study on the construction of the alignment analysis framework for analysing the alignment between senior high school chemistry academic achievement test and curriculum standard. Based on the alignment analysis model of SEC,this study has constructed an localized alignment analysis framework for the compulsory modules and Principle of Chemical Reaction module of senior high school chemistry curriculum, which can be used to analyse the alignment between senior high school chemistry academic achievement test and curriculum standard.Besides, this study has determined the critical value for Porter’s alignment index. The second part: A study on alignment between senior high school chemistry academic achievement test and curriculum standard in Guizhou province.Taking example of Guizhou province, this study has generally analysed the alignment between senior high school chemistry academic achievement test and curriculum standard in 2011,2012 and 2013,and also analysed the differences of test and curriculum standard from two dimensions of content theme and cognitive level. Besides, this study has also generalized the trends of the alignment between senior high school chemistry academic achievement test and curriculum standard in Guizhou province from 2011 to 2013.The main conclusions of this research as following:(1)The constructed alignment analysis framework is effective, and the critical value is 0.6691,suitable for hypothesis testing at alpha levels of 0.05;(2)From 2011 to 2013, there is no statistically significant alignment between senior high school chemistry academic achievement test and curriculum standard in Guizhou province for a reason that the Porter’s alignment indices are 0.4138、0.4957 and 0.5251,whicih are significantly lower than the critical value. But,the degree of alignment goes steadily up;(3)From 2011 to 2013,the senior high school chemistry academic achievement test is different from curriculum standard in Guizhou province in the dimension of content theme;(4)From 2011 to 2013,the senior high school chemistry academic achievement test is different from curriculum standard in Guizhou province in the dimension of cognitive level.According to the process and conclusions of this research, some corresponding suggestions and countermeasures are put forward to improve the the degree of alignment between senior high school chemistry academic achievement test and curriculum standard from the point of educational administration and assessment making, and the and the limitations of the research are reflected.
