As countries constantly focus on teachers’ professional development problems and relevant policy documents on teachers’ professional development in our country have issued, teacher professional development has become the core of the whole processes of the pre-service teachers training, inductive training and in-service teachers’ continuing education, etc. Therefore, the study sees college students who can directly affect the quality of new teachers as the research object and pedagogy general course that focus on cultivating students’ education belief and accomplishment of teachers as the main research contents, which is to pay attention to train high quality professional teachers. It’s contribution that connects higher education with elementary education to realize intimate relation, and adequately elaborates the service of colleges and universities of this important function too.The study sees un-education professional normal that are learning pedagogy and teachers that are teaching pedagogy of S university as direct research object. First of all, the study uses literature analysis method, expounding the pedagogy general course of the definition of basic concepts and importance in theory. Secondly, using the method of questionnaire survey, the study clarifies the present situations, problems and reasons of pedagogy general course of S university in practice. Again, using interview method, the study interviews some dependent administrative staffs of other two comprehensive normal universities(N and H) and comprehensively analyses common experiences and methods of work about pedagogy general course of two universities. Finally, aiming at the problems of pedagogy general course of S university, the study draws lessons from common methods of work of N and H universities and puts forward several countermeasures in order to improve the quality of pedagogy general course of S university. Through the investigation and analysis, it can be said that most teachers can earnestly treats pedagogy teaching and has stronger teaching competence. Students generally think that it is necessary to open a common course of pedagogy, but the course still exists many problems, which mainly puts up the following aspects: first, students’ learning attitude is not correct; second, the curriculum and class size arrangement is unreasonable; third, the choice of and the teaching materials of students’ utilization rate is low; fourth, the classroom order is confused, the efficiency of attend a lecture is low and the tacit truancy rate is high; fifth, the methods and subjects of evaluation are single, and students’ evaluation subjective and lack of ability. The study said that part of teachers has old concepts, and their conscious of obligation is incomprehensive. Teachers’ management is limited. Students’ ”normal” recognition is low and foundation of knowledge is weak, lacking of education emotion and spirit. Scientific management consciousness of colleges and universities is not strong. The evaluation mechanism of teachers and students is unreasonable, etc. They are all main reasons bringing out fore mentioned problems. In view of this, the study puts forward main countermeasures that referencing related practice of N and H University and aiming at the main problems of pedagogy general course of S university: strengthening the teachers’ team construction and improving teachers’ professional accomplishment; Enhancing the level of "normal" and the students’ learning attitude; Optimizing installment of the curriculum, selecting and using reasonable teaching materials; reforming evaluation mechanism and establishing teachers’ incentive system.In general, the study can put forward the strategy of operational stronger, which can be said has acquired achievement on this point. But the specific measures remain to be further research and discussion. Hope to have a chance to research the problems of the cultivation of the students in the future.
