The United States has the world’s very complete education system and the system, in the field of higher vocational education, school-enterprise cooperation in the United States continues to explore and create a variety of ways, and accumulate a lot of experiences. So we should study and learn of the United States. Compared to the United States, China’s cooperation between vocational college and enterprise started relatively late. In order to put the theory of higher vocational education in school-enterprise cooperation into a better practice and improving the educational achievement of higher vocational education of China, this paper attempts the angle of combining theory with practice. By learning American’s lessons and examining the practice of Sino-US school-enterprise cooperation in higher vocational education and comparing similarities and differences between China and the US, this paper is to improve China’s school-enterprise cooperation of higher vocational education.This paper uses literature method, case analysis and comparison as the main research methods. Cooperation of college and enterprise between Chinese and American higher vocational education has gone through different stages of development with each economic and social development. There are a number of ways of cooperation of college and enterprise between Chinese and American higher vocational education. In the case of the United States, there are mainly technical preparation of education, youth apprenticeships, school-enterprise contracts, SIFE, advanced technical education, CBE etc. In the case of China, there are mainly "Order" personnel training, scientific and technological achievements, personnel training "tripartite cooperation", training base of cooperation and other means. The roles of each governments, vocational colleges and enterprises are different. In cooperation of college and enterprise between Chinese and American higher vocational education, the similarities are products of social and economic development, diversification of specific ways of cooperation and the cooperation is participatory. However, each background, evaluation criteria of cooperation and role of the parties are different.Our higher education faces enormous challenges with rapid economic development. How to train technical personnel of social needed is an important issue in our higher vocational education. School-enterprise cooperation is to improve the quality of personnel training, an important way to improve the social benefits of higher vocational education. By a comparative research on Cooperation of College and Enterprise between Chinese and American higher Vocational Education, author thinks that we need from government, higher vocational institutions, enterprise to take appropriate measures. Parties should play in the role of school-enterprise cooperation and jointly promote effective implementation of schoolenterprise cooperation in Chinese higher vocational education.
