Study On Training System Of American Professional Science Master’s

Professional Science Master’s(PSM) degree as the reform and innovation of professional degree in the 21 st century, has cultivated a large number of high-level personnel of application talents with professional training, and accumulated abundant experience in its 17 years development. At the critical develop period of our own nation’s graduate education of professional degree, it has great theoretical and practical significance to study from the PSM degree education’ s training mode.This paper has studied the training system of PSM degree. Based on the websites of PSM degree’s official and the universities which established PSM degrees, with the adoption of such method as literature research, case studies and comparison, systematic analyses the training system of PSM degree. At last, this paper summarizes the beneficial experience of training system about the PSM degree education, and attempt to promote the reform and development of full-time professional degree in our country.Through the study, this dissertation comes to the major conclusions that: Firstly, PSM degree education comes into being based on the interaction of internal and external cause from the national interest, market demand and educational reform these three levels. Secondly, the talent quality structure of PSM can expect from knowledge, ability, ethics these three dimensions. And it provides more scientific expertise than MBA education, more professional skills than doctorate education and emphasize to cultivate the ability of cross-subject, practice and professional than scientific education. Thirdly, in order to make students have the qualities that are expected, PSM takes the corresponding measures like develop additional courses which are professional and transdisciplinarity, etc.What’s more, the cultivation of the PSM education has many worth our using for reference and we can summarize its characteristics from three aspects: university, industry and government cooperation to establishing a win-win model of collaborative development; this kind of degree creates a new teaching idea and pattern which we can call it 3-PBL, and it realizes the integration of teaching, scientific research and practice.Forthly, through the specific case studies can be found that the PSM degree programs each has its own characteristics.
