Population aging is unavoidable trend globally. As the development of science and technology and economy and improvement of living conditions, structure of China’s population is turning to aging population. Aging population has both positive and negative impacts on economic and social development and has positive impact on aging industry development. It requires attention from various governments, enterprises and communities on how to adapt to the aging trend and to push the development of aging industry. Aging industry will affect the social stability and economic development and its development needs support of relative laws, policies and system. At present, China’s aging population is serious which creates favorable foundation of aging industry development. However, all sectors of society have different understanding on defining aging industry and development history of aging industry, and share difference opinions on problems and reasons causing slow development of aging industry in China. Analysis of China’s aging market in a scientific manner and harmonization of relations between the Government and the market will contribute to adaptation of aging society and promotion of aging industry in China.Research of this paper covers five parts: part 1. Brief of background and significance of the research, introduction of study and current situation of aging industry and aging population both abroad and domestically; part 2. From the aspect of demography, the paper discusses the definition and characteristic of China’s aging society and impact on society, economy and family; part 3. The paper explores the definition of aging industry, features, reasons, industrial property theoretically, introduces development history of aging industry in developed countries, and their mechanism and experiences; part 4. The paper divides the development stage and analyzes current situation, existing problems and reasons causing lagging development of aging industry in China; part 5. The author provides suggestions from legal, policy and marketing aspects on development of China’s aging industry and discusses on how to play the decisive role of the market and maximize the government’s function from the industrial investment, financing, product development and marketing aspects.
