With Khalid ents as the fundamental task of education reform requires to strengthen the education of socialist core value system, perfecting Chinese excellent traditional cultural education. Middle school geography curriculum objectives and content of geography teaching contain rich Chinese excellent traditional culture. Geography is an important place for the education of Chinese excellent traditional culture. But Chinese excellent traditional culture and geography teaching is separated in the practical geography teaching. In order to better carry forward Chinese excellent traditional culture and realize geography education goal, this paper has carried on the research about the penetration strategy of Chinese excellent traditional culture in middle school geography teaching.Based on analysis of Chinese outstanding traditional culture, cultural geography, geographical course of middle school and geography teaching, drawing lessons from the research results of others, combining with the teaching practice, we try to penetration of the excellent Chinese traditional culture in the teaching of Geography in middle school. The paper discusses the connotation of Chinese excellent traditional culture and important significance in the teaching of Geography in middle school through integrating theoretical knowledge of related disciplines analysis, and considers that Chinese excellent traditional culture enriches the content of geography teaching; improves the teaching methods of geography, achieves the goal of geography education. Combining geography curriculum with the content of geography teaching, We analyze Chinese excellent traditional culture in geography subject, including patriotism, harmony between man and nature, love Thought, imitation of nature, and harmony thoughts, and charity. The education edition of geographic compulsory textbooks in Hunan as an example, we detailed explore the content of geography teaching which contains Chinese excellent traditional culture in geography textbooks. Through the questionnaire survey, the paper analyze the current status and causes about penetration of the Chinese excellent traditional culture in the middle school geography teaching. Finally,with the teacher as the starting point, we explore specific measures about the penetration of the Chinese excellent traditional culture in the geography teaching:First of all, improving awareness of teachers using the Chinese excellent traditional culture, which could achieve through establishing a scientific concept of education, improving teachers’ cultural literacy and creating a learning atmosphere. secondly, making full use of the geography classroom teaching to infiltrate the Chinese excellent traditional culture. We might make the Chinese excellent traditional culture penetrate into the geography classroom teaching by mining the excellent traditional culture in the geography textbooks, flexibly using a variety of teaching methods, combining with modern technology and reforming of geography teaching evaluation measures. Finally, actively carrying out the geography extracurricular activities.
