| Teaching of English reading plays an important role in the English teaching in senior high school. However, the traditional English reading teaching was mainly carried out with the relatively single system, which may make the students’ inspiration and creativity be ruined and they may be easy to get tired of English reading to some extent. While with the further development of the theory and practice on IMM, more and more researches focus on the application of IMM to English class, especially the oral English class and writing class. However, the study on the application of IMM in English reading teaching in senior high school is few. Therefore, it is essential to conduct a study on the application of IMM in English reading teaching in senior high school.So, this study will research and explore the application of the IMM in English reading teaching in senior high school from both the theoretical and the practical aspects. The introduction of the thesis simply talks about the research status of the IMM and reading teaching as well as the significance of this study. In chapter one, the researcher will try to put forward the effective strategies on how to integrate the IMM with the English reading teaching class after reading and researching lots of the theoretical books and thesis related to the IMM. Chapter two will present the research design of this study in detail, taking Grade One Class 9 in the NO.3 Middle School of Yanggu County in Liaocheng, Shandong. In the chapter three, the researcher will discuss and analyze the data and materials collected from the experiment, and explore the teaching efficiency of the application of IMM in English reading teaching in senior high school from the practical aspects. Finally, the following conclusions have been made in the end of the study:1. The teacher and students in the Experimental class speak highly of the experimental reading class integrating the theory of IMM.2. The application of Interest Motivation Method in English reading teaching in senior high school can effectively stimulate and arouse students’ interests in learning English reading.3. The design and application of specific motivation method can help the teacher carry out an English reading teaching class, meanwhile, students can learning the reading in a more effective way. |
