Looking back the history that the female participate the Olympic Movement will offer reference for the change and development of the Olympic Movement. In this article, linking to the background that the female participate the Olympic Movement, the method of document-data, mathematical statistics, logical analysis and expert interviewing is used to systematically discuss the different characteristic(including the condition of assignment of committeewoman and participation of Winter Olympics and Summer Olympics) of the three historical stage that the female participate the Olympic Movement. And the writer reach the following conclusion. Conclusion 1:The Feminist Movements and the Olympic Movement seem to be irrelevant. However, from the view of women’ s participation the Olympic Movement, making a general survey of the history of the Feminist Movements and the Olympic Movement, the two have some relativity. And some characteristics are presented. In the first and second wave of the Feminist Movements, the women’ s performance at Olympic Movement lag behind the Feminist Movements. Since the 80 s of the last century, the women’s participation in the third wave of Feminist Movements and the Olympic Movement are synchronous. Conclusion 2: Under the background of three waves of feminist movement, on the one hand, the attitude of International Olympic Committee President that the female participate the Olympic Movement have changed a lot, which from Coubertin’s opposition to the Baillet-Latour’s limited support and the Samaranch’s comprehensive support, effecting the result that the famale participate the Olympic Movemnt. On the other hand, the resolution of the International Olympic Committee Sessions also changed, which bigin with hesitant, and then agree that the female can participate the Olympic Movement, and finally promote the equality of men and women. Those changes laid a sound foundation for that the women participate the Olympic Movement in the round. Conclusion 3:From the first Olympic Games in 1896 to the latest Olympic Games, the countries and regions who send the sportswomen for the competition, the number of sportswomen and the number of women’s events are more and more. The Olympic Games have achieve the equalization of sex ratio and events by 2015.Conclusion 4:After one hundred years of continuous efforts, the woman participation scopes are still expanding constantly and make a great progress in the modern Olympic movement, but there are still some problems to be solved. Firstly, since IOC’s inception in 1894, the female made obvious progress in its management level, but still has a lot of shortcomings. In the beginning of estabishment of the IOC, the IOC didn’t have a female members of the office, until 1981, the IOC has finally joined the two female members. As time goes on, the number of female members reach 21 people by 2015, accounting for the IOC members 15.91% of the total, but less than one fifth of the men. The number of women don’t reached the anticipated goal of IOC set. Therefore, women still lay a low position in the management of the Olympic Movement. Secondly, the problem of Muslim women’ s participation in the Olympic Games, because the religious and the traditional custom of ethnic minorities are not totally get rid of. so they are still not able to engage in sports activities freely.
