In recent years, with the development of information technology, extensive and in-depth application practice of computer technology in the field of education, computer technology-based digital interactive classroom is rapidly raised, micro-lessons, interactive multimedia classrooms and other educational technology innovative applications draw more attention. But the handwriting cannot be digitized in these applications. With the advent of digital pen and dot paper technology, the problem can be improved; then digital pen and dot paper technology-based digital educational publications and mobile micro-course are getting more and more used.However, Anoto dot array code-based digital paper has delay, pause and certain error problem when writing and recording handwriting information, which restricts its application scenarios. Thus, based on Anoto dot array coding theory, the paper puts forward an optimized dot paper encoding method. By optimized coding method, and using two-dimensional Otsu fast iterative algorithm to conduct image thresholding process for the position code image, and conducting overall optimization for encoding method and decoding process. To some extent, the positional accuracy is improved when digital pen is doing handwriting record on the dot digital paper, and the time is saved when the positional image is being decoded.The main contents and contributions of this paper are as follows:1) The paper put forward an optimized coding scheme to solve delay and pause problem for Anoto dot paper when writing and recording. The scheme uses 8 displacement value coding method for benchmark, determines by position 5×5 dot array unit, for optimizing 6×6 dot array and 4 position of benchmark coding, preserving uniformity of positional coding number and area. It improves digital pen’s accuracy of positioning on dot digital paper by reducing dot array unit’s covered physical area on digital paper.2) For identification decoding of the dot array coding digital paper, using two- dimensional Otsu threshold segmentation fast iterative algorithm to process digital paper dot array code image, which reduces the dot array code image thresholding operation time and improves the dot array code binary images’ quality and ensures dot array code decoding accuracy.3) In this paper, the author researched on dot array position coding theory and coding and decoding algorithm, optimizing coding method. While optimizing the encoding and decoding algorithms, shortening the delay of handwriting recognition, to a certain extent, optimizing delay and positioning error problem when doing handwriting and recording on the dot digital paper.
