The research on teaching behavior has been a long-term task of geography education. With the deepening of education reform and the promotion of quality education, teachers’ teaching behavior has attracted more and more attention by the vast number of educators. But at present the research on high school geography teaching behavior mostly stays at the theoretical research level, and the research on teaching practice is relatively few. Based on the analysis of a large number of datum and combined with classroom observation and my teaching practice, this paper makes an investigation on the current situation of teachers’ teaching behavior by making questionnaire. And the author found there are some problems in the teaching behavior,then this paper puts forward the strategies to optimize the teaching behavior of the teachers in the light of the problems.The first part is the introduction, which introduces the research background of the high school geography teaching behavior from four aspects: the comprehensive deepening of educational reform, the characteristics of geography, the development of the times and society, and the characteristics of the students. Then this paper elaborate the purpose and significance of this study.The second part is the connotation and theoretical basis of geography teachers’ teaching behavior. Firstly, it expounds the connotation of teaching behavior and geography teaching behavior. Then this paper introduces the theoretical basis of the geography teaching behavior research.The third part is the high school geography teaching behavior survey and result analysis. Combined with my classroom observation and teaching practice, this paper analyze the datum of the questionnaire so as to draw the conclusion.The fourth part is the problems of high school geography teaching behavior.According to the high school geography teacher’s teaching present status,this part summarizes the high school geography teaching behavior problems.The fifth part is strategies that can improve and optimize the geography teacher’s classroom teaching behavior. This part put forward some strategies to improve and optimize the teaching behavior of senior high school geography from four aspects:Import behavior, explaining behavior, questioning behavior, showing behavior.The sixth part is the conclusion and deficiency. Combined with classroom observation and my teaching experience, this part summed up the problems of high school geography teaching behaviors through the literature analysis and questionnaire survey.
