By the promotion of new curriculum reform tide, geography classroom education also undergoes continuous reform. With the popularization of various teaching models, the geography classroom becomes more and more vivid. From Dulangkou Middle School and Changle No.2 Middle School to teamwork learning, guided learning plan and mind mapping, to the current promotion of the teaching model and method of flipped classroom, at each time, the first-tier teachers are full of enthusiasm to conduct learning and practice. However, frequently, it just goes through the motions without real contents, or halts after trying for a period of time. What kind of teaching is effective or what kind of teaching is suitable for our students arouses the pondering of the teachers in the front line. Hence, in the paper, the investigation is made towards the current situation of the effectiveness of geography classroom teaching in senior high schools, to find out the reasons for the problems of geography classroom teaching in senior high schools and the low-effectiveness of teaching; improve the teaching measures and methods; further optimize geography classroom teaching and realize the improvement of effectiveness of geography classroom teaching in senior high schools.Hence, under the guidance of the meaningful learning theory, constructivism theory, multiple intelligence theory and proximal development zone theory of Ausubel, the documentary method, investigation research method, comparative method, behavior research method and experience summary method are adopted, to conduct the research on the effectiveness of geography classroom teaching in senior high schools. In Part One of the paper, the reasons for the research of the effectiveness of geography classroom teaching in senior high schools are put forward; along with the research contents, meaning and methods. In Part Two, the concept definition of effective teaching are given and the domestic and foreign research status are summarized. In Part Three, the investigation and analysis on the current situation of the effectiveness of geography classroom teaching in the four senior high schools in Liuzhou City at different levels are conducted, so as to grasp the problems and reasons in classroom teaching and make the preliminary research on the effective practice of classroom teaching. In Part Four, the reasons and current situation for the low effectiveness in the classroom are obtained in the investigation and analysis. In addition, the effective teaching methods, teaching behaviors and teaching strategies are given. By the teaching practice, it is to perceive whether the teaching measures and methods are effective. In addition, the form of teaching case is made to present the practical classroom implementation situation. In Part Five, the teaching practice results of the effectiveness of geography classroom teaching in senior high schools are summarized, to make further thinking and generate effective teaching evaluation.All in all, by investigation and analysis, there are some low effective behaviors and teaching methods in geography classroom in senior high schools, like infuse-teaching style, the discussion focusing on forms, repeated practice and the notes and correction made for teachers and so on. It is recommended to make careful preparation, rational design, effective discussion, great lecturing and giving full play to the effects of the notebooks and error correction and so on, to improve the effectiveness of classroom teaching. As for that, several suggestions are rendered in the paper. In front of multiple teaching models, the applied model shall not be fixed. It shall make flexible and comprehensive utilization to choose the classroom teaching suitable for the students and the students’learning conditions. These teaching methods and models shall be utilized, and some improvement shall be conducted towards the limitations, so as to finally create the teaching model and method suitable for their classroom, which is the effective teaching.
