The Application Of Task-based Teaching To English Vocabulary Teaching In Rural Junior Middle Schools

Vocabulary is one of the three key elements of language, is the cornerstone for improving students’ English level, if you can not command a large vocabulary and efficient vocabulary learning method, the student is very difficult to learn English well, don’t say more interested in learning English. Students to master the degree of vocabulary will affect their listening, speaking, reading and writing four basic skills and language expression ability and communication skills.Therefore, vocabulary teaching is very important in the whole English teaching. By observing our local rural junior middle school English class, the teachers are still found to mainly explain the language points and knowledge of grammar. The vocabulary teaching is mainly mechanical practice and memory, and lack of system of English vocabulary teaching model.In view of the deficiency existing in present vocabulary teaching in rural junior middle school. Through the experiment of three months, I try to apply task-based teaching method in rural junior middle school English vocabulary teaching and research whether the students’ interest in English vocabulary learning is thickened; students’ vocabulary learning method is more effective and can improve students’vocabulary scores.The teaching experiment and the analysis of the result of the questionnaire survey’s data proved that the task-based teaching method is effective in the rural junior middle school English vocabulary teaching. This method also can not only improve the students’ interest in vocabulary learning, but also improve the students’ vocabulary learning method and students’ vocabulary scores. In addition, it also changed the teacher’s vocabulary teaching ideas and improved the ability of teacher’s vocabulary teaching.
