In news reports, people report’s status is very important. Since the1980’s, with the development of reform and opening-up, China has begun to enter the period ofsocial transformation. No longer focusing on the typical models or the traditional hero but onmore people, people report has got a new development in the reporting idea and technique.Since the1990’s, the mainstream media throughout the country set off a wave of figurereports innovation, carried out a comprehensive reform of the traditional figure report in theconcepts and techniques. The representative of the media is Southern Weekend, China YouthDaily, Sanlian Life Weekly and the character class magazine rising in the early21st century, likeSouthern People Weekly, Universal People and so on. The Southern Weekend derived from theSouthern People Weekly is the story of innovative synthesizer. This class magazine startedpublication in2004, with the unique concept of ‘Recording History’ and profound literarynarrative ability, quickly won the market and reputation. As a pure character class publications,Southern people weekly has richness content of text, well quality of text, advanced report idea,and so on, which make it become a good sample for research..Based on this fact, through narrative analysis on Southern People Weekly, this paper willexplore social transition impact on figure report, induces the figure report on the narrativetechniques and strategies of technique innovation, as the figure report practices provide valuablereference. The paper will mainly use logical and document methods, during inducting, collatingand analyzing on the Southern People Weekly, provides a feasible method for the actualoperation of figure report.
