| Firstly, more and more electrical and electronic products are put into use, and theelectromagnetic environment becomes worse and worse. So it is necessary to improveelectromagnetic compatability (EMC) performance of these products to ensure they canwork together normally. Secondly, more and more countries require EMC testing andcertification before these products are put into their markets. So it is necessary to makeefficient EMC design and modification on the products during their reseach and designperiods. And the manufacturers should know well the requirements of EMC testing andcertification of targeted markets, in order to let their products enter the targeted marketswith low-cost in time. This article mainly introduces following contents:(1) different EMC testing andcertifications requirements for electrical and electronic products like household appliances, lighting equipment in different countries and districts,(2) shielding, filtering, groundingdesign and modification techniques for EMC,(3) This article’s main job is to make use ofEMC modification techniques to solve EMC problems in engineering practice, for example, using capacitor filtering technique to reduce conducted emission from AC mains cable ofone electronic LED tube to meet the requirement of test standard EN55015, to solve ESDand EFT problems of one electronic toaster to ensure it working normally; using ferriteabsorbing technique to reduce conducted emission and power disturbance from AC mainscable of one paper shredder to meet the requirement of test standard EN55014-1; usingvaristor suppression technique to solve surge problem on AC mains of one electronic coffeemaker, one electronic paper shredder and one electronic LED lamp to ensure them workingnormally. |
