China’s natural disasters are seriously destructive and they are easy to get people’sattention. Disaster coverage is an important theme of news disseminative activities, and it is atest of the level of professionalism of the reporter. With the reform and opening up andChina’s rapid development of journalism, disaster coverage levels have also improved, and itwill continue to advance with the times, which can be identified from2008’s “WenchuanEarthquake” news by its timeliness of information dissemination and news reporter’sprofessional demonstration of news and humanistic care. The words “positive energy” getmedia attention in2012, which refers to the positive significance, giving strength and full ofmeaning and hope to people and things. Catastrophic events closely connected with people’slife, how to spread positive energy on the disaster and take the social responsibility to thepeople and pass information at the same time pass confidence and hope has become animportant topic in the study. This thesis explore the valuable strategies on reporting the spreadof positive energy by analysis the current situation of the spread of positive energy in disasterand the values and significance of spread positive energy in disasters. All in all, there are fourpurposes of this thesis. first, exploring the value and significance of the spread positive energyin reported disaster through the study the status and connotation of the spread of positiveenergy in disasters. Secondly, by analyzing the issues between the “positive coverage” is notequal to the spread of “positive energy” and “negative reports”does not mean the spread of“negative energy”, people should guide journalists to report the disasters in order to make itspread positive energy. Third, through the study of typical catastrophic events, and thesummarization of the strategy of reporting positive energy on disaster, to guide journalists toreport disasters in a more appropriate way in future so that disaster reports are able to spreadpositive energy and provide confidence and hope to people so as to contribute to disasterrelief.This thesis contains five chapters. Chapter1gives a brief introduction. The followingfour chapters are the main body. Among which chapter3is the difficult chapter, chapter4is the most important content which are being discussed in detail. Chapter2comes theconclusion of the connotation and status of the report of diasters through the analysis ofnewspaper, television, and media. In chapter3, it discusses the value and significance ofspread of positive energy on disasters which are the transparency of information to meet theknowledge needs of the masses; unite people to inspire patriotic feelings of the masses. Thefourth chapter is a difficult issue in this thesis. In this section, the author utilizes thecomparative analysis to argue several questions on the spread of positive energy which“negative reports”does not mean the spread of “negative energy”and positive coverage doesnot equal to spread “positive energy” bring some doubts by people. The author attempts todiscuss these two issues to assist people to get rid of the misunderstanding of positivecoverage is the spread of “positive energy”. The fifth chapter is the focus of this thesis. Basedon the summarization of the previous three chapters, the author makes five strategies in thespread of positive energy on disasters which are to report on time to meet the audience ’s rightto know; looking for a “beautiful people”emerged in catastrophic event; to reflect the“humane care”and spread positive energy; to take advantage of media’s role in the spread ofdisaster; to spread positive energy after disasters.The spread of positive energy on disasters is a relatively new field in our country and thegovernment and the media do not have much experience, so we need to accumulateexperience in the actual report and to reflect the significance of the spread of positive energyon catastrophic coverage.
