Heart sound is a kind of vibration signal produced by cardiac motion. It containsall kinds of information about some parts associated with cardiovascular diseases of thebody, such as atrium, ventricle, blood vessels, valves, and so on. Therefore, it can beused for heart disease prevention, diagnosis and the evaluation of cardiac function status.Cardiac reserve is the ability to rise in cardiac function, and its clinical assessment isachieved through the time ratio of systolic duration to diastolic duration (D/S) and theamplitude ratio of the first heart sound to the second heart sound (S1/S2). Due to thesample survey of people heart status, the hospital clinical using, and the related researchof the heart sound, a large mount of heart sound data will produce. But there is nodomestic specialized, appropriate database management system, for storage andmanagement of heart sound signals. Therefore, it urgently needs of a suitable heartsound database for heart sound data management.This paper develops a heart sound database management system with a higherapplicability through database and management system design. This database systemselects SQL Server2005database and Visual Basic6.0programming languageseparately to develop the background database and the front desk management system.The front desk management system mainly accesses the database through ADO (ActiveData Objects) interface technology. Heart sound database management system canperform a series of basic management function, including: addition, query, modification,deletion of heart sounds data, to conveniently update heart sound database timely.First of all, achieve access to the heart sound signals and the extraction and storageof cardiac reserve indicators. Heart sound signals are accessed in the form of binary datadirectly, rather than the path of storing signal. The extraction of cardiac reserveindicators mainly adopts manual extraction method to gain these three indicators of theS1/S2, D/S and heart rate. And these indicators are saved to database as subjects’information, which provide the basis for cardiac reserve status analysis.At the same time, design the heart sound database management system for remoteaccess. The remote access is allowed mainly by configurating database server, and onthe remote client, the database on the server can be accessed through the SQL ServerManagement Studio and the application developed by Visual Basic6.0. Remote accesscan realize data sharing to better solve the problem of lack of data in research work, and remote users can also add useful heart sound signal to the database. At the same time ofachieving data sharing, enrich and update the data.Finally, the realization of the remote access also brings on data security problem,so it is need to do more security design for database system. This article improves thesystem security mainly via configurating the security mechanism of the client,transmission network, SQL Server2005Server, database, data objects and dataencryption. Among them, the password complexity strategy and data encryptiontechnique to improve password complexity and enhance the ability against the attack,and restrict user’s permissions to improve the security of database data for protectinguser information and data of database from damage of illegal users on remote side.
