With the rapid development of computer technology and measure-control technology, automatictest system (ATS) has been widely applied in aviation, aerospace, marine, weapon equipment, energyand other important industrial areas for its characteristics of high efficiency, high precision,multi-function and wide measurement range. It provides the necessary quality assurance for complexsystems and equipments. As the important support system of aircrafts during test or flight, telemetrycomponents provide reliable basis for detecting performance and faults of the aircrafts. Therefore, itbecomes one of the necessary approaches during the research of aircrafts.In order to meet the test requirements and overcome the disadvantages exist in the test oftelemetry components such as variety of test equipments, tedious test steps and longer test period, ageneral ATS with high speed, high performance and simple operation, is designed and implemented inthe paper.Based on the virtual instrument technology, this paper uses the concept of combining instrumentscontrolled by program and background data processing. Including an industrial control computer asthe master control unit, the ATS controls equipments by hybrid buses of GPIB、LAN and PCI togenerating and receiving signals which are used for calibration of transmission channels and test ofcomponent performance parameters. By using the automatic testing software to analyze and processthe test results, the ATS can automatically generate corresponding test reports. The whole systemcombines windows kernel technique and the networked programming technique of LabWindows/CVIto be automatic、programmed and standardized. Meanwhile, kind man-machine interfaces aredesigned using the modularization criterion based on LabWindows/CVI.Through continuous debugging and testing, each module of the whole system can meet the needsof test functions, such as generating the required signals、the control of measuring instruments andprecision measurement of signal parameters. The results prove that the whole system can work stablyand achieve all the test requirements.
