| In the five sensory information channels, force tactile information is the only carrier withtwo-way messaging capabilities, by means of force feedback device in the virtual realitysystem, the user can not only send various commands to the computer in a natural way, butalso "touch " virtual objects seem on the screen, and get the same sense of power andmovement as touching the physical objects, resulting in a more realistic sense of immersion.In this paper, PHANToM Desktop, a single-point force feedback device is used as a virtualassembly interactive interface, and work on force feedback technology and virtual assemblytechnology, the main contents are:(1) This paper first analyses the principle of force feedback device and its applicationtechnology. Then utilize the GLM library functions to read and load three-dimensional modelin wavefront file format, finally use OpenGL to render them graphically.(2) For the narrow working space of PHANToM Desktop device, dynamic spatialworkspace mapping method and proxy point roaming technology is proposed, this makesfull use of the device workspace and it also expands the visual range of virtual scene andoperating space.(3) Study haptic rendering technology and propose to apply the feedback force to guidethe virtual assembly. In the assembled guiding force, the user can quickly and easilycomplete the assembly process.(4) For penetration phenomenon between parts and parts in the assembly process, thispaper presents a virtual assembly process based on the physical properties of dynamicsimulation modeling, and integrate open source physics engine in the virtual assembly. Thiscan effectively solve the problems of collision detection and response between parts and parts,and make the assembly process more realistic.(5) Three experiments were designed to verify the feasibility of virtual assembly systembased on physical modeling, and then analyze the strengths and limitations of this virtualassembly. After that, a heuristic virtual assembly prototype system and a virtual assembly prototype system based on the physical modeling were built, and compare the advantages anddisadvantages of the two virtual assembly. |
