HF communication is a radio communication with the frequency range of3-30MHz.Because it can use the reflection of the ionosphere to achieve wave propagation, so HFcommunication is an important means of long-distance wireless communication. Ionosphereaffected by solar radiation, so the channel transmission characteristics of HF is instability,itprone to fading, multipath, delay and other effects. The ionosphere is less susceptible tovandalism because it is a naturally occurring. Even high-altitude nuclear explosion nor cancomplete failure the ionosphere. Therefore, HF communication plays an important role inmilitary communications. With the advancement of technology and the development ofnuclear weapons, the conventional communication devices are susceptible to attacksparalyzed in future wars. Can no longer to just use the conventional communication networkto operations command in many occasions. And the shortwave communication suffered lessimpact in a nuclear war; it can establish a robust communication network within a short timewhen other communication equipment is failure. So it can provide the necessary conditionsfor the army’s communications of the second nuclear counterattack. The importantinformation of battlefield can be immediate delivered. In this context, research and establish ashort-wave communication systems is very significant. How to use the features of HF channelto establish a short-wave communication program developed to become the focus of thisarticle.This article will use the HF channel with slow fading and multipath delay characteristics,proposed a shortwave communication method based on cooperative communications. Use theprinciple of STBC to design a system model of shortwave cooperative communication.Obtain diversity gain to improve the system performance. And then design the shortwavecooperative communication network topology. Build a network model,Node model andprocess model in the OPNET simulation software. Simulate the opening time of network andthe system performance under different traffic by programming code, analysis and verificationsystem performance.Simulation results show that, shortwave cooperative communication system programproposed in this paper with a more robust topology, short network construction time, and easyto implement hardware. These accord the requirements of military communication network.Setting different simulation scenarios in the simulation platform, we can receive a series of simulation data. And this can provide a theoretical reference and basis for the actual layout ofthe network.
