With the development of network technology and realization of "Triple Play", as anadvanced access technology, PON is becoming the primary solution of FTTH. However, dueto the broadcast and Time Division Multiplex in downlink, there are security problems in thePON system. At the same time, with the increasing of Internet application and service, theresearch of hierarchical encryption of PON under multi-service is becoming more and moreimportant because the various services need different security level and Qos.The thesis firstly gave a brief introduction of service hierarchy of PON, summarizedseveral queue scheduling algorithm and encryption method, and separated the services intothree types. Secondly proposed the overall design of hierarchical encryption of PON undermulti-service. It makes up of three part: the service hierarchy, the service scheduling and thehierarchical encryption. Services are first separated into three queues, scheduled to thehierarchical encryption module, then encrypted by the encryption concerned algorithm, sendto the downlink in the end. Thirdly conducted simulations towards queue scheduling andoverall hierarchical encryption under OPNET simulator, presented and analysed thesimulation results which verify the validity of the proposed mechanism. Lastly, put forwardthe hardware design of the OLT, including the details of seven modules, such as MPCPcontrol module, OAM module, hierarchical encryption module, and frame filter module etc.,realized the first step hardware design of the proposed mechanism.
