With the development of computer technology, modern communication technolog y and network technology, ways to communicate grows, ad hoc networks based VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) technology network telephone, independent with base st-ation support, can be widely applied in many scenarios with networking convenience and communication feature variaty, with a wide range of application scenarios. In this paper, a research and design of a wireless ad hoc network based VoIP communications system endpoint has been presentedAfter researches of signaling technology, real-time data transmission technology and codec technology, a design and implementation of wireless ad hoc network VoIP endpoint has been suggested. Of hardware, the design contains the circuit design of core processing unit module, network transmission module, power management module and audio processing module. Of software, it discussed operating system truncation and the migration of network transmission module and audio processing module, which is the basis VoIP protocol stack migration. The protocol stack includes real-time transport protocol, which is for real-time data transmission, edit code protocol, which is for data compression, and session initiation protocol, which is for signaling control. Then I redeveloped Linphone open source software, to accomplish the entire design and implementation of the VoIP system endpoint based on wireless ad hoc networkFinally, the paper tests serial qualities of the VoIP endpoint by building up a wireless network test systems. After analysis of wireless VoIP endpoint communication data and the network stability, and voice quality tests, it indicates the predefined functionalities have been reached with good call quality.
