The Research And Application On Auto Parts Supplier Evaluation In Supply Chain Environment

With the development of supply chain management, Firms no longer compete as anindependent entity, but as an integral part of a supply chain. The relations between vehiclemanufacturers and auto parts suppliers have also turned from buyer-seller to strategicpartnership. Trying to meet customers’ diversified demands，vehicle manufacturers needauto parts supplier to respond quickly in the intense market competition environment. It isimportant to evaluate, select and manage auto parts suppliers in supply chain context. Also,it is the critical basis of establishing long-term cooperation relations. It is of greattheoretical and engineering value to study the auto parts supplier evaluation strategies andmethodology under supply chain background.Based on the research of evaluation criteria system and evaluation method, anevaluation model was established and applied to a vehicle manufacturer.Firstly, the importance of auto parts supplier evaluation was elaborated. The researchstatus of evaluation criteria system and evaluation method was reviewed, further definedresearch purpose and main content of paper. The theoretical base for establishing theevaluation criteria system and evaluation method oriented to vehicle manufacturer waspresented.Secondly, an evaluation criteria system was established according to QCDS, overallcompetency, cooperating capacity and sustainable development capacity. Indicators werequantified for further study.Then, a new trend of evaluation method study was proposed after analyzing andcomparing traditional methods of evaluation. Combined Fuzzy Logical System with BPNeural Network, an evaluation method was presented. The new method, named FNN, wasthen applied to evaluate auto parts supplier.Finally, the methods were applied to a vehicle manufacturer in Chongqing. It isdemonstrated that the supplier management here was optimized. Besides, an Auto-partsSupplier Evaluation System——ASEA was developed through Matlab GUI.
