Wireless sensor networks (Wireless Sensor Network) consists of a large number ofinexpensive miniature sensors nodes which deployed in the area to monitor the environment,which form a multi-hop ad-hoc network of networks through wireless communications, whichaims cooperative sensing, collecting and processing network coverage area perceive objectsinformation, and delivers to the management staff. However, due to limitations in resourcesand processing capabilities of nodes, it is necessary to use these resources efficiently,especially in the application of IPv6protocol for wireless sensor networks. But address andheader information overload in IPv6protocol stack, data transfer may be too large to fit in asmall IEEE802.15.4data packet.It need to cut in order to be applied to the wireless sensornodes. So measures is raised which as header compression scheme will improve thetransmission efficiencyCurrently, the research of6LoWPAN technologyis still in its infancy, many scholarsactively participate in discussions and research, making more and more mature abouttechnical standards and applications. Firstly, thesis discusses the background and researchstatus6LoWPAN technology,6LoWPAN technology raises design ideas and relevanttechnical background. IEEE802.15.4MAC layer for IPv6header format standards and adetailed description and analysis of header compression scheme proposed provides atheoretical basis. Secondly, the thesis in-depth study of the wireless sensor network operatingsystem TinyOS component of programming, event-driven model, and active messagecommunication technology, especially the content of the agreement and data structuresTinyOS network layer gives a detailed analysis, The TinyOS system transplanted to theCC2420and made a experimental verification and as the basis for implementation of headercompression scheme. On the basis of these, the thesis detailed analysis of the6LoWPANarchitecture, gives the functional description adaptation layer, and analyzes the currentresearch progress about header compression, we achieved a context-based headercompression scheme, the header compression algorithm gives a detailed analysis anddescription, and to achieve this compression algorithm in TinyOS system, given the specificflow chart of the compression and decompression. Finally, this thesis implements a contextheader compression scheme and shows the test results.
