With economic development, improvement of people’s living standard andacceleration of life rhythm,the demand and dependence on taxi when people travelconstantly strengthens. However, the uncertainty of taxi driving routes andpassengers positions, passengers sometimes are too difficult to wait for the taxis. Inparticular,on the peak of the vehicle and late at night, or in remote region,, calling ataxi is harder. As for the taxis, the traditional model for finding passagers by travelingaround the streets makes high no-load ratio,and waiting on fixed point for passagersmakes low rate of utilization of time. In response to this phenomenon, many citesapply systems of calling taxis. To a certain extent, the running efficiency of the taxiis improved. Since Google launched Android mobile operating platform, theapplication of smart phone become deeper in people’s work, life and entertainment.Taxi service system based on Android come into being.In this paper we have mainly studied the architecture of the Android platform,mobile applications developping based on Android SDK,and location application,route queries and map annotation based on Baidu map.We have also studied webapplication developed based on J2EE platforms and heterogeneous data exchangingtechnology. On the basis of these technologies, we have designed and realized aconvenient taxi service system based on Android and its core funcion are requesting ataxi by passagers and response of driver, seeing nearby empty taxis and passengers, aswell as data statistical analysis on management client. The system architecture is B/Smode, and the clients include client of passenger and client of driver, the server clientis the management client. we use Json technology to achieve data exchange betweenheterogeneous platforms.In order to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the system,a prototypesystem has been implemented by using of rapid prototyping method. By tesing onAndroid phone simulator and real phones, experiments show that the functions of thesystem meet the requirements designed before and reflects fine practical value.
