Special Traffic Tasks Decision Support System For Urban Large-scale Events

With the development of social economy, people’s life standards increasegradually, so more and more urban large-scale evetns have been held. And there aremany special traffic tasks should be executed in those large-scale events. As we allknow, the characteristics of traffic flow is not the same as regular traffic flow. On thebase of overally master special traffic tasks and with the help of information to managetraffic.Taking the200911thNational Games in Jinan, this subject studied eachtechnique, the architecture and functions of software systems in detail.On the consideration of going from the easy to the difficult and complicated, wedevided the topics into five parts. Firstly, it analyzed state-of-the-art of the SpecialTraffic Tasks Decision Support System for Urban Large-scale Events, to find the studyshortcomings. Secondly, we studied the definition and characteristics of large-scaleevents and special traffic tasks.Thirdly, the six key techniques of special traffic taskswere studied, including traffic police position and exhibition based onGPS/GIS/350M，special traffic tasks plan decision techniques via expert system, trafficsignal coordination control technique, intelligent video surveillance technique, systemintegration and information release techniques, and this part was one of the keycontents. Forthly, it studied the software system’s architecture, functions and databasedesign. At last, further studies on this subject were submitted.As innovations were referred, there were three points:First was the detially study the traffic flow characteristics in special traffic tasks,and raised the concept of first-order and second-order special traffic tasks with theirtraffic flow characteristics each other.Second was the study of special traffic tasks. Traffic management was not only atechnique task, but also including culture, and was a ever-accelerated subject. So,expertise was important in traffic management, to manage traffic with expert system.Third was the integration of information techniques. ITS was a integrated systemitself, it included many techniques. This subject envoled GPS, GIS, communication,video techniques, traffic signal control, information process. Taking the optimizationmanagement as goal, we built a framework of this kind of task.
