Wireless communication network technologies have fundamental importance insupporting modern ubiquitous networks to connect a person at anywhere, at anytime,and with anybody. Recently, there are strong demands on introducing wireless bodyarea network(WBAN) technology from various parties such as medical and healthcaresocieties as well as information and communications technology (ICT) industries. Thispaper focuses on synchronization problem of the wireless body area network system.Synchronization algorithm to be studied in this paper includes framesynchronization algorithm and carrier synchronization algorithm. Carriersynchronization algorithm includes traditional carrier synchronization algorithm andmaximum likelihood frequency offset estimation algorithm. Performance of carriersynchronization algorithms are analyzed from estimation range, estimation mean,estimation variance and estimation precision, compared from estimation range,anti-noise ability, algorithm complexity and estimation time.According to the characteristics of wireless body area network system, this paperselect the most suitable synchronization algorithm for WBAN system through analysisand comparison of frame synchronization algorithm and carrier synchronizationalgorithm of various types of properties. Then this paper builds a platform for theselected synchronization algorithm, and verifies system performance to ensure that thesystem bit error rate performance can meet the requirements in the agreement.Finally, this paper rewrites the algorithms which meet the performancerequirements to the Verilog HDL program. Then, this paper uses the Quartus tosimulate the algorithm and compare the results with MATLAB simulation results. |
