With the optical transport network based (OTN) Intelligent Optical Network (ION)application and development of the future will have an optical network based onWavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) wavelength routing network, to assume theoptical layer routing and wavelength assignment. In order to WDM technology-basedintelligent optical networks, routing wavelength assignment (RWA) is one of its coretechnology. To automatically switched optical network (ASON) as the representative ofthe next generation intelligent optical network transmission network is one of the maindevelopment direction, routing and wavelength assignment (RWA) is the key to intelligentoptical networking technologies. Dynamic RWA algorithm can follow the serviceconnection requests to dynamically create the optical path, the source node and thedestination node and choose a rational calculation of routing and wavelength assignment.RWA problem is in the network is the source node and the destination node selects anappropriate route requests and assign the request an appropriate wavelengths available,based on business characteristics can be divided into static and dynamic RWA RWA. Withthe explosive growth of data services, optical network transport network gradually fromthe traditional to the business network evolution, the future optical network servicefeatures highly differentiated, which the RWA mechanism put forward new and higherrequirements, the need to support dynamic business capacity.This paper outlines the research background and related technology developmentstatus at home and abroad related to study the dynamic ASON routing and wavelengthassignment problem studied, analyzed the WDM (Wavelength-Division-Multiplexing,WDM] network routing and wavelength assignment problems, on this basis, summed upthe impact of ASON dynamic routing and wavelength assignment problems of the mainfactors, and has some of the current dynamic routing and wavelength assignmentalgorithm is studied in learning the principles of genetic, based on the minimal impact ofwavelength assignment algorithm and genetic algorithm by combining RWA algorithm has been improved, we propose a dynamic routing based on genetic principles and wavelengthassignment algorithm in the design of algorithms fitness function, consider the routinghops, selectable wavelength effects on shared links, wavelength conversion capacity andother factors. Finally, about the routing algorithm in practical engineering applications.application results show that, compared with conventional dynamic RWA algorithm, thenew algorithm can effectively reduce the whole network blocking rate.
