The rapid development of mobile Internet makes it more and more convenient for us to access information. With the popularization of the use of intelligent mobile terminals and the increasing market share, the sales of mobile terminal devices with Android operating system are rising around the world. It is becoming a trend to develop mobile terminal applications based on the Android platform and it also brings a revived opportunity for the transformation and reengineering of periodicals. Depending on its open style and overall system architecture, Android has attracted a lot of developer and users, and has become the most-used and fastest-growing mobile intelligent operating system, and has also become the preferred platform of developing mobile terminal applications. It has broad prospects to develop applications based on Android.Grafting traditional journal onto mobile terminals is a break from paper reading. It has explored a new digital reading road and provided a convenient way of reading for readers. By the simple interactive platform, people can exchange in time and have a better experience. Hence, there is profound practical significance and wide range of application to develop such a mobile terminal. Following the market demand and the current development boom of Android, researching and designing an App based on Android is extremely necessary and urgent to bring the literature function of scientific journals into full play. The paper states the achievement of a mobile terminal application which is synchronized with the AAS website. Functions mainly realized are as follows: view past journals, leave a comment, share, download, view news, search and manage the downloads.This paper firstly analyzes the development of research in the field of journal and explores the combination of AAS and mobile communication device combining the current trend of mobile Internet. Then, it analyzes and studies Android features and its architecture, the development platform, the directory structure and components of the project, and the framework of SSH. Then designs in outline the AAS client-side and server-side according to its demand. And then designs and implements them. Function modules of the client-side realized are as follows:system login and registration module, sliding menu, journals, search, the latest news, forum, the downloads, version updates and so on. The server-side realized the persistence layer, the DAO layer, and the business logic layer. The result indicates that it can properly interact with the client-side. Finally, the paper summarizes the inadequacies and also makes a constructive instruction for the follow-up work.After the development of the system, the paper verifies its functions. The results indicate that each component works well, and the client can interact with the server normally and implement the expected functions. The system has many features, such as real-time, fast, easy to maintain and update. It is of great help to readers, researchers and editors of the professional field. It can facilitate the exchange and sharing of scientific and technological resources, and also promote the development of E-Science.
