With the development of society and continual improvement of human’s life, people’s demand for medical technology is in rapid growth, and surgery is becoming more and more minimally invasive and refined. As the important application of computer assisted surgery, surgery navigation system can realize intraoperative visual image guidance and guide the implementation of surgery smoothly. In recent years, clinical research and application of surgical navigation system has become a hot spot. The lesion localization process utilize the applications of image fusion technology in the field of robot, medical image process and computer vision. Therefore, the progress of medical image fusion technology directly decides the development and application of surgical navigation system. Based on this hot issue, the paper studied and designed the image fusion algorithm according the characteristics of the image in the optical molecular imaging surgery navigation system.The main research content of this article is as follows:1. The simple introduction of surgery navigation system, optical molecular imaging, the concept, level, evaluation method of image fusion and the development status of image fusion algorithm was made. Analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of different image fusion technology and fusion levels on the basis of the image characteristics of surgical navigation system in this article.2. The image fusion method based on pixel gray value and pseudo color image fusion method were studied, and were improved and simplified based on the surgical navigation system in this article. A combination of two kinds of simplified image fusion algorithm was proposed.3. Image registration must be conducted before image fusion at pixel level. The definition and principle, the basic process of image registration, the space transformation model and method of image registration were introduced. The paper studied the area-based image registration method and analyzed several kinds of common similarity measure criteria used in template matching method.4. On the basis of the optical molecular imaging surgery navigation system studied in this paper, a image fusion method at pixel level based on a point was proposed. The paper carried the detailed description on the processes of image preprocess, image registration and image fusion. The image fusion results verified the feasibility of this method and demonstrated the method got the better image fusion effect, cost shorter image fusion time, when it was used in the optical molecular imaging surgery navigation system.
