| This research conducts on data mining techniques and scientific knowledge for educational purposes for students at the National University of Laos. The purpose of this research is to assist the advisor with the decision making and advisory studying by using the profile of students such as age, sexuality, academic record, average grade, etc. that is prediction of aptitude and suitability of the student where they should pursue to enroll in. The registry information in the Faculty of Economics and Business Management consists of4programs:Business Computer, Marketing, Management, and Hotel and Tourism Management, which creates two models for analyzing students study profiles for each of the available programs. The model result shows that the studying core grade result of Finance has great effect on the studying result of Business Computer, Management and Hotel and Tourism Management; and the studying core result of business has great effect on studying result of Marketing and Management.Furthermore, this research creates the model to analyze the studying result in each subject where the accurate analysis of Business Computer program prediction model is73.49%, marketing program prediction model is83.58, Management program prediction model is78.12%, and Hotel and Tourism Management program prediction model is86.67%.Thus, this created model used to predict the academic performance of the student in each subject shows that the predicted percentage in each model has high result value. So, we can conclude that the4program is high accuracy and importance. Therefore, we can use this information immediately because it is more important and highly accurate.Nevertheless, the prediction result is just the information that used to assist in decision making of the advisor for giving an advice to the student and finding solution to develop the educational efficiency of the students only. But, in reality, it requires to use other factor to help in decision making such as attention in studying, class attendance, report or homework submission, etc. |
