Optical fiber communication is the main means of transmission of the moderncommunication network, which has the characteristics of high-bandwidth, high-capacity,long-distance, high-speed and high-demand, widely been used in long haulcommunications systems, the transmission system of optical fiber access network and thetransmission system of computer communication network. The fiber opticcommunications cable is consist of different segments. The cable segment is erected andconnected by different resource points,which is particularly important for the research onoptical fiber resource management system.The managments of the staff for each resourcepoint includes inputting information of resource point and editing resource point,etc, theinformation of resource point is stored in the database.It is the guarantee to carry out inaccordance with the construction plan in the construction process, to ensure the normalflow of communication cable.The original cable resource management system,whose staff worked Manually, hasthe disadvantage of no plans, no direction,and low efficiency. In order to improve theefficiency of the cable management of resources,we need not only the mechanism ofpoint input with fastly and accuratly, improved cable management system,but also the afriendly graphical management, you can understand the internal situation of the resourcepoints, even if the staff do not at the scene.Combination of Google Maps API,WebGIS and SVG, Optical Cable resourcemanagement system achieves the functions of daily management for cable resource. Thispaper focuses on SVG,the storage methods of SVG spatial data,and the application ofSVG in Optical Cable resource management system.Firstly,the SVG was used to describethe the distribution of the internal devices of human well and room,and we operated theobjects of SVG. Secondly, because SVG is HTML-based,westored SVG graphics in the database with the form of text. Again, SVG graphics wasused to describe the case of fiber optic splice in the human well, room, ODF or connectorbox,and this system forms the overall figure of a cable segment and repeater,to facilitatecable management and fault location analysis. Meanwhile, The system also completedthe user management module, point resource management module and cablemanagement module. This system provides a great convenience for staff to manage theresources point and cable,which has a very important significance in practicalapplication,and the application is prospect.
