Under China’s current political and institutional arrangements,Internet, especially after WEB2.0booming in China, brings us a kind of possibilityand expectation. It becomes an important channel to the expression of public opinion,attracting academia and industry attention and discussion. Forum, blog, instantmessaging, news thread......the public’s expressing discourse platforms are constantlyexpanding, and they play quite necessary role for people to obtain information andexpress themselves, showing an interactive trend.News threads, acting as an active public discourse platform of expression, have agrowing impact toward netizens’ public opinion; however, they arouse insufficientattention of academia.This paper analyzes the subject/news topics/content of Netease news treads andfound game of government, Netease and netizens leads to what Netease news threadsshow out. Through describing the netizens actively participating in public affairs,reflecting the netizens’ civic consciousness germinate. However, when consideringthe specific comments of the netizens, we find they usually showed attitude ofanti-elitist, thus reflecting the populism tendencies. In this contradiction of citizenshipintertwined with the network populism, Netease news threads and netizens shouldperform their respective obligations to promote freedom of expression in the Neteasenews threads toward rational and orderly aspect. |
