The Design And Implementation Of Web-based Practical Teaching Management System

Practical teaching is the key component part of teaching supervisory work in vocationalcollege. As the fast development of internet and the more and more reforms of practicalteaching in vocational college, Using the computer and the internet to improve practicalteaching management is imperative. Recently, most key colleges and universities in Chinahave owned practical teaching management platform. But there are little software aimed atpractical teaching management in vocational college. Many vocational college even have noexperience on applying the practical teaching management system. Take the SoftwareEngineering Department of Hainan College of Software Technology for example, thepractical teaching management still on the stage of labor management. In order to simplify theroutine work of practical teaching, and make it highly efficient and systematical, usinginternet to build up the practical teaching management system is an urgent issue to be settled.On the base of thorough analysis of the practical teaching in vocational college, in orderto resolve the disadvantages of labor management stage in the Software EngineeringDepartment of Hainan College of Software Technology, the project develops practicalteaching management software based on Web which covers the entire process of practicalteaching management, such as the management of practical teaching project, the managementof practical teaching resources, the practical teaching progress, and the arrangement ofpractical teaching, etc. The software makes practical teaching more automatic and systematicto satisfy the require of practical teaching, improve the quality of practical teaching, stimulatestudents’ enthusiasm, and liberate managers out of the burdensome management work.This paper presents the development process of the practical teaching management systembase on B/S mode by comparing the mainstream practice teaching management system withrelated network information and pertinent literature, and by analyzing the actual demand ofthe Software Engineering Department, Hainan College of Software Technology.The projectachieves the design and development of system function by using NET framework、ActiveServer Pages.NET (ASP.NET)、 ActiveX Data Objects.NET (ADO.NET) and Unified Modeling Language (UML). Furthermore, the project adopts AJAX （AsynchronousJavaScript And XML）framework to deal with the client asynchronous request.
