| The mobile communication technology is developing rapidly, and the users of China’smobile communication systems has largely increased, thus a variety of mobile serviceshave rapidly emerged to satisfy the users’demand. However, the development of the mobilecommunications systems is heavily depend on the spectrum resources, the growth of a widerange of service types constantly challenge the spectrum resources that allocated to China’smobile communication systems. It is imminent to assign new spectrum resources for themobile communication systems of China.In this paper, the use status of the spectrum allocated to the IMT system in our countryare summarized, and some existing spectrum requirement estimations methods for thefuture IMT system and their advantages and disadvantages are summarized. Then weprovide a spectrum requirement estimation method based on the dense urban is provided.The main process of the method is as follows.1) The selection of the typical dense urban area, the base year, and the sample data.2) The prediction of the total traffic volume in the dense urban of the future IMTsystems in2020, using the GM (1,1) model;3) Traffic distribution. According to the ITU-R M.1768, calculate the trafficdistribution ratio between the different radio environments (macro cell, micro cell, pico celland hotspot) under different access technology groups(3G,4G, WLAN).4) Base station deployment analysis. Give the upper estimation of the basestation(macro station, micro station, pico station and hotspot) number in2020according tothe actual situation of the selected typical dense urban ground.5) The spectrum demand results of different access technology group. Obtain oneoperator’s spectrum demand of the3G and4G systems according to the traffic volume, thebase station deployment and the spectrum efficiency, then adjust the results using theMinimum deployment Bandwidth.6) The final spectrum requirement results calculation of the future IMT systems in2020. Add the spectrum demand of3G and4G systems, the result is the final spectrumrequirement of one operator in2020. Give three groups of the estimation value of themarket share of this operator according to the current situation and the future po ssiblechanges in the market, then get the spectrum demand results of the three operators. The result is the final spectrum requirement of the future IMT systems of China.The method proposed in this paper improves the highest recognized ITU-R M.1768,gives a comprehensive analysis according to the actual circumstance of the IMT systems inChina. The method is relatively complete and convenient, can better reflect the spectrumdemand of the IMT systems of China in2020. |
