As users of network services requires the continuous improvement and newtechnologies continue to emerge, providing innovative multimedia applications,high-quality voice and high-speed data services is becoming the development trendof today’s telecommunications networks. In such a business needs and the trend ofnetwork evolution, the birth of the next generation network NGN (Next GenerationNetwork), which uses the open network architecture system to achieve separation ofbusiness and control the call and bearer separation, is based on the unified protocolpacket network. Softswitch core technology of next generation networks as moreand more public concern. However,3GPP (Third Generation Partnership Project) inthe R5(Release5) proposed a version of IP Multimedia Subsystem IMS (IPMultimediacore Subsystem), to provide a high-speed data services and richermultimedia services. In recent years, IMS-based network integration andinteroperability has become a hot research industry. And based on3GPP R4(Release4) of soft-switched network is still much potential for development, as wellas a high use value, and the carrier voice revenue still mainly comes from thebusiness. Separation of the two network access only to users of the unnecessarytrouble to the operators also have a huge investment. Therefor, based on IMSnetwork and the R4softswitch network interoperability as nowadays facing a veryimportant issue.This paper first learned at home and abroad on the IMS network and the R4softswitch network interoperability of the situation, these two kinds of networkprotocols and interoperability study, the completion of the function of the moduledesign and implementation. Of two kinds of networks interworking function entity,and architecture. R4-depth analysis of IMS and softswitch network protocol andmessage format type, and the typical call flow. Analysis of IMS network protocolheader field, carding two network protocol message mapping process, including themapping between message type and message mapping between parameters. Designand implement the key functions required physical exchange media gateway controlfunction. Finally, the design of the system for testing and analysis, and performancerequirements based on the system proposed by cyclic code error correction technology to solve system problems, and proposes a residual based on cyclic codeswith error correction algorithms to reduce the direct style system after theintroduction of error-correcting codes delays on the system to achieve systemdesign requirements.
