Aging of the population and chronic diseases are becoming critical problem for thesociety all over the word. Thus early diseases diagnosis is becoming the key for modernmedicine to manage this problem. For this diagnosis, electrocardiogram signal, peripheraloxygen saturation and blood pressure are among the most used physiological signals inpatient monitoring. A portable medical terminal monitoring all these signals and connectthe user with the medical center, is an unparalleled convenient way for patients and doctorsto save lives.In this thesis a such Android based medical terminal was developed. This medicalterminal not only has the feature of monitoring several physiological signals and constantdetection of eventual abnormalities, but also has the ability to send recorded data to thecloud server for further processing and storage. As soon as any abnormality is detectedrecently locally stored data are uploaded to the cloud server. Those data are sent with thepatient location coordinates obtained by GPS or network to permit user position tracking onan electronic map. Moreover, doctor at the medical center can request the terminal toupload data if needed and send some reminds as well as suggestions.Abnormalities detection work emphasis on arrhythmia detection. Heartbeatsclassification was accomplished using QRS template matching process, R-R pick intervaland wave area after QRS complex detection. QRS was detected using J.Pan&W.J.Tompkins algorithm. The performance of the developed software in heartbeatsdetection is more than99%. The sensibility of abnormal beat detection is85.9%and100%for abnormal SPO2and blood pressure in theory, all competitive for a low computingcapacity mobile phone.The highlight feature of the developed terminal is to combine multiple physiologicalsignals, real-time abnormalities detection, networking and its portability.
